Eleftherios “Terry” Tamvakis 75 of Princess Anne, MD died January 17, 2013. Terry was born in Piraeus, Greece September 24, 1937. He was predeceased by his parents Panagiotis and Sultana Tamvakis of Greece.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Elaine and their puggies Franco and Sophia. Two brothers Christoph Tamvakis of Norway, Fortis Tamvakis and a sister Eleni Tamvakis of Greece and their families. Two sons Chris Tamvakis and family of Florida and Jason Tamvakis of New York. Sister-in-law Marylou King and husband Jack. Sister-in-law Jeanie Bozman and husband Kenny. Nieces Jackie McDaniel, Patti Vance and husband Allen, Cathy Burkhard and husband Ron. Nephews Derek Benton and wife Natashia, Johnny King and wife Jane. Great niece and Goddaughter Kristin Vance, Great nieces Ashley Kreyer and husband Seaton, Gabriella and Summer Benton, and Tori Bozman. Great nephews Andy King and Brandon Burkhard. Great-great niece Kylie Messick.
Terry served in the US ARMY 1st Airborne 187th Infantry and was a member of the American Legion post 64. He became a certified member of the US Merchant Mariners and was a mechanic for Baltimore Ship Builders in his early years. Terry resided in New York until retirement in 1993 where he was a building manager of several co-op buildings and condominium complexes.
A memorial service will be held Monday January 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Holloway Funeral Home 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury MD 21804. Service will be officiated by Rev. Sally Stewart.
