Obituary for Nancy Jane Gagner

Nancy Jane  Gagner
Nancy Jane Gagner, 88, of Salisbury, MD passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Luther Shepherd and Frances “Toots” Bradley Shepherd.
Nancy was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church and various organizations for doll collecting, antiquing and dancing. She particularly loved square dancing and going to yard sales. Her love and talent for knitting was showcased over the years by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Victor J. Gagner; 5 children: Robert A. Gagner and his wife, Toni of Waldorf, MD, Dan C. Gagner and his wife, Sharon (Fox) of Port Deposit, MD, Susan L. Boyle and her husband, John of Tuxedo Park, NY, Patricia (Patti) C. Serkes and her husband, Nick of Salisbury, MD and Lisa A. Lewand and her husband, Lance of West Townsend, MA; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Serkes, Nathaniel, Jacob and Riley Lewand, Victor Gagner and John “Jack” and Connor Boyle and 1 great-grandson, Chase Serkes. In addition to her husband, children, grandsons and great-grandson, Nancy is survived by her sister, Frances E. “Sadie” (Shepherd) Kallas and her husband, Bob of Easton, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ray Gagner; 2 sisters, Pearl E. Fauntleroy and Aure L. Daugherty, and 2 brothers, Robert L. Shepherd and William H. Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 4:00 pm at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 302 St. Albans Drive in Salisbury, MD with Rev. Frieda L. Malcolm officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Education Department at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, 100 East Carroll St., Salisbury, MD 21801 or St. Albans Episcopal Church.
