Tony Sarbanes

Dear Cindy and family--I was absolutely shocked to come home after a week away and to find out that we have lost another great American and a good friend. I hope people will remember his military service to our country. He received a battlefield commission in Korea and then rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. That is a great accomplishment. I shall forever be grateful to him for his service as a vice principal when I was the principal at Wicomico High School from 1971-1974 before opening Parkside. Bob wa simply a superior school administrator and just great to work with. He took his job very seriously, was a great help to me and although he had a tough side to him he was also filled with a great deal of compassion. He went on to serve in the central office where again he fulfilled his duties in a superior manner. I shall always treasure the many memories I had of Bob. I recently saw him at the Eastside Deli were we had a great chat and I thought he looked pretty good. He was his jovial self and we spoke as if we had seen each other the day before. He was also married to a lovely lady and I mean that in every sense of the word. My, they were a great couple. So Bob, a great army officer, a geat school teacher and administrator and just a great man, I bid you farewell and thank you for so many great memories. It was an honor and pleasure to know you.
